PRIDE & PREJUDICE call for Audition Video Submissions

...is pleased to announce that audition video submissions for its upcoming production of
PRIDE & PREJUDICE are now open. This notice is a call for video submissions to audition for the show.
AUDITION INFORMATION -
Those who wish to audition must submit their completed video by 11:59pm on Sunday May 19th. The video should include the reading of at least 2 lines from the provided dialog sides. They should submit the video as part of filling out this Google Form to audition:

Please note that performers of any ethnicity, race, color, sex, gender, age, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, and who are differently abled are welcome and encouraged to audition. We are actively seeking all ethnicities for all roles. Please note also that no roles for this production have been pre-cast and that all roles are open.
Should the Production Team need to see anyone further for a Callback Audition, those who will be invited to attend will be notified by Monday May 20th at 1pm. The Callback audition will be held the evening of Tuesday May 21st at 7pm at Plaza Academy (221 S. Mill Street, Cleburne TX). Everyone who submits an audition video will be notified of casting decisions regardless of whether or not they are cast.

PRIDE & PREJUDICE includes Tabitha Ibarra as Director, with Crystal Todd as Stage Manager and JaceSon P Barrus, Tina Barrus and G. Aaron Siler as Producers.
PRODUCTION INFORMATION -
PRIDE & PREJUDICE will play on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings and Saturday afternoons opening on July 19th and playing thru August 10th. Rehearsals will usually take place Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings until opening. No Sunday rehearsals or performances.

Based on the novel by Jane Austen that has achieved worldwide acclaim,
PRIDE & PREJUDICE tells of the independent-minded Elizabeth when she meets the handsome but enigmatic Mr. Darcy. Lizzie is determined not to let her feelings triumph over her own good sense - but the truth turns out to be slipperier than it seems.

Plaza Theatre Company is a 276 seat theatre-in-the-round located at 305 S. Anglin Street in Cleburne, TX. The Company produces around 14 shows a year usually in the style of family-friendly comedies and musicals. PlazaCo opened in November of 2006 and is currently producing its 179th show. The Company has been the proud recipient of over 80 Column Awards including winning “Best Musical” in 2009, 2010, 2012, 2015, 2020 and “Best Play” in 2014, 2018 and 2020 in addition to recently being named “Best Theatre Group” by the WFAA A-List for 2011. PRIDE & PREJUDICE Character descriptions -
Mr. Bennett - (Male. 50 to 65) - Patriarch of the family. Understands the manners of the age, but has a great sense of humor. Loves his daughters and his wife.
Mrs. Bennett - (Female. 50 to 65) - Mother of five girls. She wants the best for all of them, despite their lack of dowry, and worries the rules of inheritance will leave them stranded.
Jane Bennett - (Female. 22) - Eldest of the Bennett sisters. Mature, well-mannered, and sees only the best in everyone she meets.
Elizabeth Bennett - (Female. 20) - Second eldest. Well-read, outspoken, sees life with more skepticism than her older sister.
Mary Bennett - (Female. 19) - Middle sister. Always reading. Always.
Kitty Bennett - (Female. 17) - Wants to be seen as an individual, but is always shadowed by her younger sister.
Lydia Bennett - (Female. 16) - Somewhat rebellious and opinionated. She wants to grow up much faster than expected.
Mr. Bingley - (Male. 25) - Wealthy young man. Responsible, mature, somewhat conservative. New neighbor to the Bennetts.
Mr. Darcy - (Male. 28) - Wealthy, clever house-guest of Bingley. A bit aloof and opinionated, particularly about class and family status.
Caroline Bingley - (Female. 22) - Spoiled, scheming younger sister of Mr. Bingley.
Mr. Wickham - (Male. 28) - Soldier. Feels betrayed by Darcy. Courts two of the Bennett sisters.
Rev Collins - (Male. 25) - Distant cousin of Mr. Bennett, and presumed male heir to the Bennett estate.
Lady Catherine DeBourgh - (Female. 50-65) - Mr. Darcy’s aunt who is sure no one is good enough for their family. She is also the patroness of Mr. Collins, meaning she pays for his parsonage of their church.
Other Supporting Characters -
Mr. Lucas - Charlotte Lucas’ father.
Mr. & Mrs. Gardiner - Elizabeth’s aunt and uncle who bring Jane to London and accompany Lizzie to Pemberley.
Georgiana - Mr. Darcy’s younger sister, once wooed by Wickham.
