AUDITIONS BY VIDEO SUBMISSION ONLY - Deadline is Thursday January 22 at 12:00pm
Plaza Theatre Company is proud to announce its upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz! The production will play at PlazaCo's Dudley Hall location at 305 S. Anglin Street in Cleburne, TX opening on March 6 and playing through April 4.
Auditioners are asked to submit a video. The video should include a selected reading from the provided audition sides. The auditioner should submit the video as part of filling out the Google Form to audition.
Performers of any ethnicity, race, color, sex, gender, age, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, and who are differently abled are welcome and encouraged to audition. We are actively seeking all ethnicities for all roles. ALL ROLES ARE OPEN.
PLEASE NOTE** - A few of the roles in the show may call for participation in intimate moments or staged combat moments. In all associated circumstances trained and certified Intimacy Directors and Fight Directors will stage these moments having sought and obtained the consent of those involved.
Should the Production Team need to see anyone further for a Callback Audition, those who will be invited to attend will be notified by Friday January 23rd at 10am. The Callback audition will be held the morning of Saturday January 24th from 9am to 1pm at the Plaza Academy location (221 Mill Street, Cleburne TX). Everyone who submits an audition video will be notified of casting decisions regardless of whether or not they are called back or cast.
The Production Team for THE WIZARD OF OZ includes Tina Barrus as Director with Nathan McCarty as the Musical Director, Addisen Bairrington as Choreographer, Jorilyn Tasker as Intimacy Director, Jacob Hanson as Fight Director, and Shelby McCarty as Stage Manager. JaceSon P. Barrus, Tina Barrus and G. Aaron Siler are the Plaza Theatre Company Producers.
PRODUCTION INFORMATION -
THE WIZARD OF OZ will play on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings and Saturday afternoons opening on Friday March 6th and playing thru Saturday April 4th. Rehearsals will usually take place Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and some Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings until opening. No Sunday rehearsals or performances. Rehearsals will commence on or around Monday January 26th.
